- Emphasizes on according highest priority to the safety
Shri Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting on safety and progress of ongoing infrastructure development works of the Zone through virtual mode from Headquarters office, South Western Railway. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference. The General Manager also held a review of works taken up by SCR Construction Organization, RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Service), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Railway Electrification (RE).
The General Manager held a focused review on the safety of train operations and plans on enhancing safety in vulnerable sections by preparing action plans. He advised the officials to impart regular training to all safety staff in order to avoid untoward incidents like SPAD, breaches, gate open cases etc. He specifically emphasized on achieving safest train operations and no blind spots should be left out to achieve the same. He also advised the officials to set up counseling sessions for all employees especially the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots and staff indulged in all safety related works to be more vigilant in order to avoid untoward incidents. He instructed the field officials to ensure safety precautions as to avoid the incidents of fire in running and stationary trains without fail. He also instructed that dissemination of information related to safety must reach out to the field officials and last man in the line of working.
The General Manager also reviewed the progress of new line works, doubling, tripling and electrification works being carried out. He instructed the officials to thoroughly look in to various aspects while planning and commission of Limited Height Subways (LHS) to avoid water logging and drainage related problems. The General Manager further advised the officials of all construction organizations to meticulously plan the execution and completion of project targets.
Shri Sanjeev Kishore also reviewed the Covid preparedness of the Zone in view of the alertness cautioned by the Government of India. He instructed the officials and staff to strictly follow Covid protocols such as maintaining social distancing, use of masks and sanitizers without any compromise at all Railway premises and workplaces. He advised the staff to be cautious and avoid crowding at all costs.
