- on the occasion of SCR achieving its highest ever parcel revenue of Rs. 200 cr in the current fiscal, Railways Honoured the elite customers handling parcel traffic
South Central Railway felicitated the customers handling parcel traffic today i.e., 21st March, 2022 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad for their support and co-operation in achieving highest ever Parcel revenue of Rs. 200 crore in the zone’s history. The meeting aimed to further enhance the existing relationship between the Railways and its customers. The meeting was chaired by Shri John Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, SCR. Various cargo operators, traders and parcel traffic handling agents along with senior Railway officials from Headquarters and Division participated in the meeting.
Overcoming the challenges posed by Covid, the Zone has earned revenue of Rs.200 crores by loading 4.78 lakh tones of Parcels in the current financial year 2021-2022 (up to 19th March 2022) as against the total annual Parcel revenue of Rs.108.3 crores in 2020-21. Apart from the customer friendly initiatives introduced by Railways, user-centric environment created by the zone in resolving the issues raised by customers also assisted in registering the robust growth. In recognition of the support and co-operation rendered by parcel handling customers, traders and merchants, Railways has felicitated them.
During the meeting, Shri John Prasad, PCCM interacted with the parcel customers and appreciated them for their contribution in accomplishing this feat. He assured that South Central Railway will act on any positive suggestion made by them to further increase the loading and improve parcel revenue of the zone. He stated that this achievement is also a result of collective and coordinated efforts made by the Business development Units (BDUs) at Divisional and Zonal levels to attract additional traffic and also the support rendered by the customers. He advised the staff and officers to maintain cordial relation with customers and extend all the possible assistance in resolving the concerns of the customers. He also requested the customers to utilize the enhanced facilities, amenities and various concessions for effectively transporting their commodities by Rail in a safe and secure manner.
