- Review meeting held on safety, freight loading and precautions to be observed during summer season
Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway conducted a review meeting on safety and freight loading of the zone today i.e., 06th April, 2022. During the meeting, the General Manager virtually inaugurated Digital X-Ray facility at five Railway Hospitals across the zone. Principal heads of the departments and Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded also participated in the meeting.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain virtually inaugurated Digital X-Ray with Computer Radiography facility at five locations i.e., Kacheguda Health Unit, Guntakal, CRS Tirupati, Rayanapadu and Nanded Divisional Railway Hospitals. Digital radiography produces dynamic, high quality images and is cost effective. A digital radiograph can also be easily copied and emailed. The General Manager appreciated the team for their efforts in installing the new x-ray machines. He stated that Digital radiography is an excellent facility which will help to reduce the exposure of radiation on patients while providing a more intensified x-ray image.
Further, Shri Arun Kumar Jain advised the officials to initiate special measures for the safety and comfort of passengers’ health during summer season. He directed the officials to ensure adequate supply of water at all Railway premises in view of the heat-wave. Further, the General Manager emphasized on achieving highest safety standard in train operations over the zone. He advised the officials to impart regular training to all safety staff and enhance the supervision in order to avoid untoward incidents like security breaches, gate open cases etc. He also advised the officials to set up counseling sessions for all employees especially the loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and staff indulged in all safety related works to be more vigilant in order to avert unusual incidents.
The General Manager held a detailed review on freight loading performance of the Zone. He complimented the officials for robust growth in the freight segment in the financial year 2021-22. He advised the Business Development Units (BDUs) to maintain liaison with freight customers to attract more traffic in order to further expand the freight basket of the zone. He also directed the officials to operate more number of long haul trains to reduce congestion in busy sections of freight traffic.
