Shri Sanjay Chander, IPS Director General / Railway Protection Force (RPF) / New Delhi visited Secunderabad today i.e., 18th May, 2022 and conducted Performance Review Meeting with Sri Raja Ram, IG-Principal Chief Security Commissioner / RPF / SCR and other RPF officers at Rail Nilayam. During the review meeting, Director General / RPF emphasized on Security of Passengers and their belongings which has now become the area of prime concern as far as RPF is concerned. He also briefed the officers regarding Security of Women and Children during their stay over railway system.
Shri Sanjay Chander, IPS Director General/RPF has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association for Voluntary Action (AVA) on 08th April 2022 on behalf of Railway Protection Force for a trafficking free Nation. He had initiated deliberations with Ms. Rajni Sibal, CEO of Sri Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) in presence of Noble Laurate Sri Kailash Satyarthi. Further RPF has launched “Operation AAHT” to take stringent action against human trafficking through rail. In this regard, Railway Protection Force has formed AAHT teams at all the major railway stations for effective watch over human trafficking.
During the meeting, Shri Sanjay Chander, Director General/RPF reiterated that Indian Railways being the primary transporter for the nation and therefore is a major route for human traffickers for transportation. The RPF personnel deployed at railway stations and trains are strategically positioned to intercept the trafficking before the victim reaches the destination and the exploitation starts. With its strategic positioning and its pan-India presence, RPF can play a leading role in the nation's efforts to curb “Human Trafficking”.
