A Seminar on Passenger Business with focus on proliferating the adoption of “UTS” mobile app and digital transactions in ticketing has been conducted by the Commercial branch of South Central Railway at Sanchalan Bhavan, Secunderabad on 09/06/2022. This seminar was inaugurated by Shri G. John Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager/South Central Railway and Shri Sharat Chandrayan, Divisional Railway Manager/Hyderabad Division.
Shri G. John Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, while addressing the participants stressed on the need to deliver ticketing services in a smooth manner and provide satisfactory services to the passengers. He exhorted the participants to spread awareness about the “UTS” mobile app, through which passengers can get their tickets conveniently from their mobile phones without any need to visit railway booking counters.
Shri Sharat Chandrayan, Divisional Railway Manager/Hyderabad Division, in his address underscored the importance of increasing the share of digital modes of ticketing and payments in smoothly handling the passenger rush at Stations in unreserved segment.
A detailed presentation was made by the South Central Railway Commercial department authorities on enhancing the adoption of “UTS” mobile app among the passengers and steps to be taken to increase the utilization of Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) available at major Stations. The need for increasing the share of digital payments through PoS machines using debit/credit cards and UPI in ticketing has been stressed by the authorities.
A large number of railway commercial department staff in the cadre of booking supervisors, commercial inspectors, ticket inspectors and reservation supervisors from Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisions participated in this seminar and shared their views/suggestions on further improving the passenger business with focus on enhancing the adoption of digital modes of ticketing.
