- General Manager conducts safety review meeting with all DRMs

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway conducted a detailed review meeting o­n according top priority and strict observation of Monsoon precautions over the zone today i.e., 10th June, 2022 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the meeting through web conference.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain laid emphasis o­n adherence of safety precautions in view of the ensuing monsoon season. He instructed the officials to strengthen patrolling at identified vulnerable sections such as bridges and locations with heavy rainfall to prevent unsafe conditions. He also informed the concerned officials to ensure cleaning and maintenance of side water drains, catch water drains and waterways to avoid flooding of tracks and ensure smooth running of trains.

Further, the General Manager directed the officials to intensify track patrolling and ensure supervision of track maintenance works. He advised the officials to maintain liaison and close co-ordination with State Government officials during heavy rainfall. In addition, a booklet o­n monsoon precautions has been supplied to all the concerned officials and staff at Headquarters and Divisional level. Seminars are also being conducted at divisional level to sensitize the staff to be more vigilant and alert so as to take timely action wherever required.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain also held a detailed review o­n freight loading performance of the zone. He advised the officials to focus o­n new areas of traffic and make attempts to further improve the speed of freight trains. The General Manager also conducted a review of speed enhancement o­n the newly commissioned lines and routes.
