Hosted by South Central Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad
As part of 8th International Day of Yoga (IDY), The Bharat Scouts & Guides is organizing the Southern Regional Level Yoga Fest from 19th to 23rd June, 2022. The event is being hosted by the South Central Railway at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad. The inauguration of the mega event was held today i.e., 19th June, 2022. Shri Rajiv Kishore, State Chief Commissioner, SCR Bharat Scouts & Guides and Principal Chief Personnel Officer, SCR was the chief guest who congratulated the organizing team and addressed the fest participants.
Around 180 participants (Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers and Adult Leaders participating) are representing from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, South Western Railway & the host South Central Railway (Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Vijayawada/Nanded/Guntakal&Guntur Divisions) Bharat Scouts & Guides Organization members. This five day event / course will see training of Yoga ashana’s & demonstration which will be given eminent Yoga Guru’s. Apart from daily yoga training, slogan making, drawing & painting competitions, cultural programs during daily camp fire will be held. Daily participants will be engaged in various scout / guide skill activities from morning 06.00 hrs till 20.00 hrs. on 21st June, 2022 the participants will join the SCR officials & staff for 8th International Day of Yoga event, “Yoga for Humanity” is the theme of this year’s International Day of Yoga.
Shri Rajiv Kishore, speaking on the occasion welcomed all the participants for this regional level event which being hosted by SCR which has a long history for hosting a number of national events including Railway Jamborees. He emphasized participants to practice yoga and make it as a daily routine and said yoga is the journey of self, through self, to the self. He stressed that yoga keeps us healthy and a healthy body makes healthy mind. He called upon participants who are getting trained in yoga to spread it in their vicinity amongst family and friends circles after going back.
Shri Vikram Gupta, State Commissioner (Scouts) & Chief Engineer, SCR; Ms. Padmaja, State Commissioner (Guides) & Chief Freight Traffic Manager, SCR; Shri A.K.Rawat, State Secretary & Secretary (PG), SCR and Ms. Kumud Mehra, Assistant Director, Southern Region, Bharat Scouts & Guides were also present. Shri T.D.Gowri Shankar Rao, State Organizing Commissioner (Scouts), SCR BS&G presented the Vote of Thanks.
