Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 17 employees across the zone for showing alertness, performing the duty with dedication and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He presented the awards during a virtual safety meeting held today i.e., 19th July, 2022 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the virtual meeting.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain virtually presented the “Man of the month” safety awards to 17 employees of the zone. The awardees received the awards at the hands of Divisional Railway Managers of the respective Divisions. The employees belonged to various categories like loco pilots, Station Masters, Technicians, Points Man, Key Man, Track Man, Gate Man etc.
The General Manager reviewed the proposed works related to redevelopment of Secunderabad, Nellore and Tirupati Railway Stations. SCR invited tenders for redevelopment of Secunderabad railway station and the tenders will be opened on 29th July, 2022.
The General Manager laid primary focus on the safety and punctuality of train operations over the zone. He discussed various action plans to avoid untoward incidents that might affect the punctuality of the trains. In this regard, he instructed the officials to have a focused approach and impart regular training to all the safety staff such as conducting field level seminars, simulated training for the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots, etc. Further, the General Manager instructed the officials to enhance the supervision by conducting frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements without fail.
The General Manager also instructed the officials to conduct special drives on safety at work sites involving the concerned departments and supervisors to avoid unsafe conditions. He reviewed the freight loading performance and examined the progress of on-going infrastructure developmental works across the zone.
