Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway conducted a detailed review meeting on safety preparedness in view of heavy rains across the zone today i.e., 12th September, 2022 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the meeting through web conference.
The General Manager stressed on intensifying the monitoring of track safety at vulnerable areas during continuous raining conditions over entire Zone. All the officers and staff needs to be on high alert to ensure the safety of the trains and hassle free transportation. He instructed officials to step-up the patrolling at all identified vulnerable sections including tracks, bridges and locations with heavy rainfall to prevent unsafe conditions.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain discussed on safety issues observed by concerned officials and suggested DRMs to undertake Mega Safety Drives to avoid occurrence of any unusual incidents. The General Manager reviewed the Punctuality of the zone with all the DRMs. He also instructed the officials to maintain the punctuality up to standards in passenger trains and as well as freight trains.
The General Manager reviewed on statistical data received on the running of trains with Maximum Speed of 130 Kmph over the Zone and expressed happiness on improvement in running time for Express trains. He advised the officials to keenly observe the consequences pertaining to enhanced speed limit. The General Manager also discussed the progress of business development efforts over the Zone. The officials informed the General Manager that discussions are going on with new business organizations line India Post & TSRTC to add the additional sources of revenue.
He also reviewed the progress of ongoing works related to additional loop lines/interlocking works/traffic facility works and infrastructural developmental works. The General Manager also reviewed the works of remodeling of Sidings to improve the operational flexibility and handling of more loading / unloading of freight trains with in less time.
