PR No. 537 - Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister Dedicates Three Lifts at Sitafalmandi Railway Station To the Nation



Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region dedicated three lifts at Sitafalmandi Railway station to the Nation today i.e., 13th September, 2022. Shri Sharat Chandrayan, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division and other senior Railway officials were also present o­n the occasion.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri G. Kishan Reddy stated that Sitafalmandi Railway station is o­ne of the important stations in the twin cities. The station also has multiple platforms and the lifts will provide convenient mobility to passengers especially to Senior Citizens and Divyangjan, he added. The Hon’ble Minister also appreciated the Railways for providing modern amenities for the comfort of passengers. Further, he informed that various Railway developmental works have been undertaken in the State including redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway station with a cost of Rs. 600 crore and the development of Fourth Terminal station at Charlapalli to ease traffic congestion in the twin cities.

Shri Sharat Chandrayan, Divisional Railway Manager stated that South Central Railway has been at the forefront in providing modern facilities to passengers at Railway stations. The Sitafalmandi Railway station is an important urban station with MMTS services. The lifts at the station are situated at the entry side, near booking office and platforms no. 3/4 of the station, which is very convenient for the passengers, he added. Later, the Hon’ble Minister interacted with the passengers and enquired about other facilities and train services at the Railway station.

Salient Features of the newly commissioned lifts:

· Heavy duty elevator with 13 passengers capacity

· Automatic Rescue Device (ARD) in case of power failure

· Two stops and two openings o­n same side

· Machine room less and gearless motor type with VVF control

· Centre opening side glass door type

· It also has audio announcement feature
