PR No. 606 - Guntur Railway station commences Coach Restaurant in its premises

- This is the first of its kind in SCR jurisdiction of Andhra Pradesh

As part of providing enhanced passenger services and novel experience to the rail users, South Central Railway has conceptualized an innovative idea by starting a Coach restaurant in the circulating area of Guntur Railway station. Guntur Division authorities have modified o­ne sleeper coach o­n rails setup at circulating area of the station with full AC provision and modified interiors to suit the dining requirements. This is the first of its kind over the SCR jurisdiction in the State of Andhra Pradesh State. Rail commuters and General Public will have a unique and pleasant dining experience at this restaurant. Passengers will get premium dining experience in this multi cuisine with hygiene and quality food available at local tariff rates. These services shall be offered round the clock for the convenience of travelling public.

This first of its kind Rail Coach restaurant over South-Central Railway has been started today i.e., o­n 10th October, 2022 at the east side of Guntur Station in circulating area. Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri R. Mohanraja, DRM, Guntur said that this innovative idea had been conceptualized by Guntur Division to provide premium experience to Rail commuters by utilizing old aged unserviceable coach and this coach is redesigned to the needs of Coach Restaurant by granting license to the entrepreneurs. This restaurant not o­nly provides hygienic and quality food to Rail commuters 24 X 7 but also generates Revenue to Railways. Shri V. Anjaneyulu, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and his team were present o­n the occasion.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-charge), SCR has complimented Guntur Division officials for providing a good passenger amenity at Guntur railway station by utilising o­ne sleeper Coach. He congratulated the officials for setting up good ambience and interiors in the hygiene atmosphere. He also said that this coach restaurant with multi cuisine will serve the food at local tariffs to the rail users which also leave them with a good memorable experience.
