PR No. 646 - SCR announces Jalna - Chhapra Weekly Special Train Service

- The Special Train runs via Khandwa, Prayagraj, Varanasi catering to the needs of people travelling o­n pilgrim, business, vacation etc.

To provide additional travelling facility to the people travelling from the Marathwada region to the various towns and cities of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce o­ne weekly special train from Jalna to Chhapra and back. The first / inaugural trip of this train service will start o­n 26th October, 2022. This inaugural train service also caters the needs of large number of people travelling to Northern and Eastern parts of the Country to attend Chhath Puja festival at their home towns.

The special train runs via Khandwa, Itarsi, Katni, Prayagraj and Varanasi stations which provide direct train facility to the rail passengers who wish to travel to pilgrim towns like Prayagraj and Varanasi. Earlier, the passengers had to travel in two or more trains to reach those pilgrim destinations. The train starts at Jalna in the late night making it convenient and comfortable travel to reach their desired destinations. In the return journey also, the train starts at Chhapra during the late night and reaches Jalna at early hours. The train consists of both AC and Non AC classes, suitable to all segments of the people. This weekly special train serves the needs of the public travelling o­n pilgrim, business and vacation purposes besides the people travelling to their home towns.

To enhance the comfort and provide modern amenities, the train has been inducted with new state-of-the-art LHB coaches, which will offer a new riding experience to the passengers. It provides safe, convenient and cost effective travel option to the people of this region. The train consists of both reserved and unreserved coaches so as to meet the demands of all segments of passengers.

Initially, 6 services of the special train i.e., 12 services in both directions have been announced which will be operated during the months of October, November and December. Accordingly, Train No. 07651 Jalna - Chhapra special train will start from Jalna o­n every Wednesday at 23.30 hrs and reach Chhapra at 05.30 hrs o­n Friday. In the return direction, Train no. 07652 Chhapra - Jalna special will start from Chhapra o­n every Friday at 22.15 hrs and reach Jalna at 04.00 hrs o­n Sunday. The inaugural Special train will start o­n 26th October, 2022 at 21.30 hrs instead of 23.30 hrs from Jalna.
