PR. No. 659 - Persons with Honesty, Hard work and Humility in the Life Shall be the Role Models to Eradicate Corruption

Persons with Honesty, Hard Work and Humility in the life shall be the role models to eradicate corruption in the society and development of Nation stated Shri L. Narasimha Reddy in the inaugural day function of Vigilance awareness Week-2022 organized at South Central Railways Headquarters. While Shri L. Narasimha Reddy, Hon’ble former Chief Justice, Patna High Court graced the occasion as a Chief Guest, Brahma Kumari Sunita was the Guest of Honour and Ms. Chandrima Roy, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, SCR presided over the program.

The “Vigilance awareness Week – 2022” was held at Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad today i.e., 31st October, 2022. “Vigilance awareness Week – 2022” is being observed by SCR from 31st October to 6th November, 2022. The theme for current year is “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”.

Speaking o­n the occasion Shri L. Narasimha Reddy stated that, the o­nly solution to overcome the menace of corruption is the strong will-power. To be honest, o­ne should be able to differentiate between the need and greed. Inculcation of Honesty and Hard Work would lead our country towards a corruption free and developed Nation. He also stated that every individual is basically honest by nature but when exposed to wealth and resources, may become corrupt due to selfishness and greed. He stated that each individual should consciously put their efforts to eradicate corruption to build a New India.

This day i.e., 31st October is also celebrated as the National Unity Day o­n the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shri Vallabhbhai Patel who was instrumental in uniting the country. To commemorate the same, Shri L. Narasimha Reddy administered the Integrity pledge to all the officers and staff present in the meeting.

Brahma Kumari Sunita, the Chief Guest of Honour, has enlightened the audience about the importance of spirituality path and how it could prove a solution to the major problems that are being faced by the society today, especially for eradicating corruption. She said that every soul is divine and pure by its virtue but to keep it same, a regular and continuous spiritual oriented life style is required. She reminded the audience not to get attracted towards any material attachments be it position or possession.

Ms. Chandrima Roy, Senior Deputy General Manager, South Central Railway presided over the meeting. In her welcome address Ms. Chandrima Roy explained the way in which Vigilance Branch of SCR is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week under the guidance of

Chief Vigilance Commission / Railway Board. As part of this week, Elocution and Essay writing completions were conducted not o­nly in railway schools/colleges but also other schools/colleges which received enthusiastic participation of above 700 students. Prizes were distributed to the winners during the function.

Shri L. Narasimha Reddy also released “ANIMISHA” a Vigilance Bulletin of South Central Railway o­n the occasion. The function concluded with a skit played by in-house artists highlighting the ill effects of corruption.
