PR No. 673 - SCR Organizes ‘Integrity Walkathon’ as part of Vigilance Awareness Week






South Central Railway organized Integrity Walkathon as part of Vigilance Awareness Week today i.e., 05th November, 2022 at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), Shri J.K Jain, President SCR Sports Association & Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Ms. Chandrima Roy, Sr. Deputy General Manager/SCR, Principal Heads of the Departments, Divisional Railway Managers – Hyderabad & Secunderabad Division, Senior Railway Officials, Sports Personnel and Staff participated in the walkathon program.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain flagged off and led the rally to create awareness o­n the importance of Vigilance Awareness. Railway officers and staff enthusiastically participated in the walkathon. The rally aimed to reaffirm the commitment of SCR to promote integrity and probity in public life, generate public awareness, publicize the adverse impact of corruption and bring down the menace of corruption to zero.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that corruption is a big drawback in the development of the society and it has to be eliminated. He stated that every citizen should participate in the mission to eliminate corruption. He advised the staff to make Integrity a way of life and teach the same values to the people around them. The General Manager stated that transparency in public sphere is important and needs to be achieved to improve service to the common man.

The theme for the current year’s Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) is “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”. The Vigilance department of SCR is observing “Vigilance awareness Week – 2022” from 31st October to 6th November, 2022. During the seven days period, several programs are being organized by SCR Zonal Headquarters, Six Divisions i.e., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded; three major workshops and field units across the zone to root out corruption and spread awareness among the Railway fraternity and public.
