Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, Government of India inspected Secunderabad Railway station & reviewed the redevelopment plan of station Redevelopment today i.e., 28th December, 2022. She was accompanied by Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, Shri A.K Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior Railway officials during the inspection.
Smt. Darshana Jardosh planted sapling to mark the green initiatives near the island gardens at the entry side of platform no. 10 towards green environment. The Hon’ble Minister reviewed the Upgradation plan of the Secunderabad Station Plan for which works have already commenced. The Minister reviewed the progress of the work and instructed to monitor this critical project to complete it within the stipulated time. The Hon’ble Minister said that the Station is being upgraded keeping in view the needs of the station for the next 40 years.
Later, she visited the passenger waiting hall and interacted with the passengers on availability of requisite amenities. She visited “One Station – one Product” stalls which have been stated to market local products like Jute bags & Handloom and Kalamkari textile products on platform no. 10 and enquired about their success. She also inspected the overall amenities available at station including escalators & lifts, Foot Over Bridge and circulating area, parking area etc.
Speaking with media representatives, the Hon’ble Minister stated that Secunderabad Railway station is a major transportation hub in the twin cities and this station was selected for redevelopment with international standards. The redevelopments works will be completed within the three years of as per the schedule. The Hon’ble Minister stated that TCAS (Train Collision Avoidance System) has been indigenously developed on the SCR and being implemented on large scale which will be implemented throughout Indian Railways. She also appreciated the SCR officials for undertaking the project works with an environment friendly manner and with less inconvenience to the passengers. She also stated that the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway station is being undertaken with an expenditure of approximately Rs 700 Crs. The Minister also said that efforts are being made to extend the services of Vande Bharat all over the nation.
Later, the Hon’ble Minister held a performance review meeting at Rail Nilayam Conference Hall. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, Shri Amit Goel, Additional General Manager, SCR and all the Principal Heads of the Departments present in the meeting.
