A meeting with Deputy Solicitor General of India Telangana along with his panel of Central Government Counsel on the subject of compensation claims in high court of Telangana was held today i.e., 17th January, 2023 at Rail Nilayam.
This Interactive session was presided over by Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, Additional General Manager/SCR. Speaking on the occasion, he advised the Central Government counsels to improve the success rate of compensation appeals being filed in High Court as Railways so as to ensure judicious disbursement of claims. He stated that Central Government counsels should take immediate action with respect to Execution Petitions being filed in Railway Claims Tribunal for the cases whose appeal by Railways is pending for want of listing.
Sri C Venu Gopal Chief Commercial Manager/Claims also discussed about Hon'ble High Courts awarding interest and Compensation against the precedents set by Supreme Court and requested Deputy Solicitor General of India to advise Railway on the Question of Law which was kept open by Hon'ble Supreme Court. Shri RP Singh, Chief Security Commissioner mentioned that detailed statutory enquiries will be done as per the act and evidence to the extent possible will be deduced while taking deposition from the witness. Deputy Chief Commercial Manager/Claims gave a power point presentation on Claim compensation and Challenges being faced by Railways. Shri Gadi Praveen Kumar, Deputy Solicitor General of India and Central Govt Counsels, High Court of Telangana in their remarks have replied that all out efforts are being made to ensure the success of Railway cases in High court in Telangana and all cases will be handled effectively.
