ØPET was conducted for 08 days from 12th to 22rd January, 2023.
ØA total 21,151 candidates attended and 3,445 candidates remained absent for PET.Among the attended, 14,807 candidates qualified and 6,344 candidates were declared not qualified.
Based on the performance of candidates in the Computer Based Test (CBT) exam conducted from 17.08.2022 to 11.10.2022 in various phases by RRBs for the Posts in Level-1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix against Centralised Employment Notice- CEN RRC 01/2019, 24,596 Candidates were called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) at Secunderabad – (excluding Persons with Benchmarked Disabilities & Course Completed Act Apprentice Candidates – as per extant instructions). The Vacancies notified for South Central Railway are 9,328. The Venue of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) was RSC Grounds, Secunderabad & RPSF 7thBattalion Grounds, Moula-Ali and was conducted from 12-01-2023 to 22-01-2023. Each day around 4,000 candidates were called for PET and last day i.e. 22.01.2023 was meant for the absentee candidates.
Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under:

Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance. | Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance. |
On an average around 4,000 candidates participated on daily basis in the PET at the nominated venues i.e. RSC Grounds, Secunderabad & RPSF 7th Battalion Grounds, Moula-Ali which was conducted from 12th to 22rd January, 2023.
Elaborate arrangements were made for smooth conduct of PET. The Technical aspects of the PET were handled using advanced technologies like RFID etc. It was ensured that the time taken by each candidate to complete each activity i.e. Weights & Run is digitally recorded using RFID technology. The results of the PET conducted in the morning are released every afternoon in the RRC Secunderabad website.
