Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted review meeting on safety of train operations today i.e., 30th January, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad in the presence of Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the meeting through virtual conference.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain held a detailed review on safety of train operations over the zone. He laid primary focus on enhancing supervision of freight trains and conducting frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements without fail. He also reviewed the status of regular training and counseling sessions being imparted to safety staff including loco pilots and assistant loco pilots. The General Manager extensively evaluated the speed restrictions over the zone and advised the officials to remove the caution orders to the possible extent wherever feasible, so as to further speed up the movement of trains. He also advised the officials to ensure availability of safety equipments to all field staff.
The General Manager analyzed various safety drives being undertaken over the zone involving the concerned departments and supervisors. He advised the officials to continue to have a focused approach and make action plans to ensure hundred percent safety in train operations.
Further, Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed the progress of various on-going developmental projects including doubling, triple lines, electrification and station redevelopment works across the zone. He advised the officials to strictly monitor all the infrastructure projects by ensuring proper planning and execution of works so as to complete the projects by targeted date without fail. Later, the General Manager also reviewed the position of court cases and advised the officials to expedite them in favor of Railways.
