Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, reviewed the activities of Centre of Excellence for Kavach, an indigenous Automatic Train Protection System at Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET) today i.e., 04th February, 2023. He directed the executives concerned to chalk out strategies to proliferate the technology on faster pace and to improve the efficacy of the indigenous system. Hon’ble Minister also visited the laboratory set up available in the Institute for Kavach equipment. The integration of Kavach with Electronic Interlocking systems used at Railway stations was demonstrated to the Hon’ble Minister.
The Minister interacted with 170 plus engineers undergoing various training programs in the Institute. He advocated them to inculcate the habits of thinking big and changing the attitude to offer solutions to problems in the working in incremental fashion to improve the productivity and achieve quantum jump in the delivery of services. He urged the need to adopt world class modern technologies to find solutions to meet the expectations of the public. He also answered a few queries raised by the trainees on the challenges of multiple technologies and infrastructure creation.
Hon’ble Minister participated in the Chief Administrative Officers’ conference organized at Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) Pune through video conferencing during the early part of the day. He advised the Chief Administrative Officers of Zonal Railways to come up with action plans to achieve higher levels of targets mandated for creation of infrastructure. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway and Shri Sudhir Kumar, Director General, IRISET accompanied the Hon’ble Minister during the visit.
