Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting on Safety of train operations across the Zone today i.e., 13th February, 2023 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain held a detailed review on improvement of speed and removal of prevailing speed restrictions on identified sections of the zone. The Divisional Railway Managers gave a brief presentation on action plans being implemented by the divisions to remove the speed restrictions, wherever feasible. The General Manager advised the officials to expedite the process, so as to further speeding-up the movement of trains across the zone.
On the safety aspect, the General Manager instructed the officials to focus on the shunting movements followed in the yards. He stressed up on avoiding shortcut methods and ensuring compliance of all safety procedures without fail. He also elaborately reviewed the status of safety drives and advised the officials to conduct frequent inspections at good sheds and yards to ensure implementation of safety measures at the field level. He also advised to intensify inspection of tracks to ensure smooth running of train operations.
The General Manager reiterated that during the course of the safety drives the officers, supervisors as well as the construction staff should be sensitized on all aspects of safety.He instructed the officials to intensify the counseling sessions and keep track of refresher courses involving the staff who are related to train running operations.
