The prime objective of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) is to carry on the unrelenting fight against criminals in protection of Railway property, facilitate passenger security and safety. RPF is always in the forefront at times even risking their own lives to safeguard the railway property and also the lives of passengers. In order to give focused attention to the safety of railway property, passenger security and providing assistance to passengers while taking coordinated action with Government Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, RPF has launched several operations and recorded noteworthy performance.
Achievements by RPF during January-2023
Operation“Rail Suraksha”–during January’23 RPF/SCR has arrested 60 offenders and recovered stolen property worth 39.8 lakhs with registration of 50 cases against them.
Luggage Retrieval and hand over under Operation “Amanat” – RPF personnel provided help in securing retrieved more than 208 belongings of passengers valued at more than 49.3 lakhs in the month of January’23.
Operation “NARCOS” :-RPF has confiscated Ganja valued more than 32.5 lakhs with the arrest of 7 persons during the month of January’23.
Rescue of children under Operation NanheFaristey:- RPF undertook the noble cause of identifying and rescuing children in need of care and protection who are lost/separated from their family due to various reasons. 82 children (69 boys + 13 girls) have been provided safety by RPF/SCR in the month January’23.
Action against Human Trafficking under Operation AAHT – under this mission RPF/SCR has rescued 18 boys from the clutches of 06 traffickers.
Mission“Jeevan Raksha”: - RPF personnel, risking their own lives, saved 4 (2 male + 2 female) persons in the month of January’23.
Action against carriage of contraband/illegal goods under Operation “Satark”:
Liquor worth 16,500/- transporting illegally through trains was seized with arrest of one person and subsequently handed over to Excise Department, who registered 2 cases against the offender.
Action against touts under Operation “Upalabdh”:- To curb the activities of touts substantially and make railway tickets available to the common man. During January 13 cases were registered by RPF/SCR with arrest of 13 touts with seizure of 106 live tickets and total tickets valued Rs. 17.08 lakhs.
