PR No. 909 Accord Top Priority to Field-Level Activity During the Intensive Month-Long Safety-Drive - Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed review meeting o­n Safety of train operations across the Zone and month long intensive safety drive from 19th February as directed by Railway Board today i.e., 20thFebruary, 2023 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabadalong with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.

 

Shri Arun Kumar Jain laid primary focus o­n the month-long intensive safety drive being undertaken across all six divisions of the zone to ensure alertness and enforcement of safety protocols at field level to improve safety consciousness of the staff involved in train operations. He instructed the officials to carry out field inspections at various sections, lobbies, maintenance centers and worksites etc., to ensure implementation of safety measures and guidelines, without fail. He also advised the officials to observe and systematically analyze the working practices and interact with field level staff to comprehend and resolve any issues being faced by them.

 

Shri Arun Kumar Jain also laid special emphasis o­n imparting intensive and continuous counseling sessions to all the safety category staff including loco pilots and assistant loco pilots to avoid any untoward incidents. The General Manager emphasized that not o­nly crew members but all safety staff should be enrolled in refresher courses to update their safety consciousness.

 

Later, the General Manager reviewed the status of ‘Amrit Bharat stations’ project being undertaken by the zone. The Divisional Railway Managers gave a presentation o­n the Railway stations identified for modernization in their respective divisions. The General Manager reviewed the action plans and progress of work in this regard and advised the officials to ensure proper planning and execution of works so as to complete the projects by targeted date.
