Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held the review on recently concluded Mega Safety drive over the zonal jurisdiction to strengthen the safety of train operations. The Safety Drive was held from 19th February to 4thMarch, 2023. During the Mega Safety Drive 491 inspections have been conducted by the Officers and 2,174 inspections have been done by the supervisors all over the Zone.
The General Manager held a detailed review meeting on Safety and Punctuality of train operations across the Zone today i.e., 6th March, 2023 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabadalong with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.
The General Manager reviewed the safety of train operation & working conditions. He stated that utmost care should be taken to avoid short cut methods & unsafe working conditions in train movement. He also instructed the officials to take precautionary as well as preparatory measures in view of ensuing summer season.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed the status of refresher courses to the safety category employees, quality of training being imparted at training institutes and counseling on safety of running staff frequently by the inspectors. He instructed the officials to make sure that the latest safety literature / equipment on train operations reach the train running staff in a timely manner.
The General Manager reviewed the status of strengthening track maintenance works, safety related works, Non-Interlocking works, traffic blocks and power blocks ongoing throughout the Zone to improve ease of train operations. He advised officials to ensure the punctual operation of passenger trains.
