Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister flagged off Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad - Tirupati from Secunderabad Railway station today i.e., 08th April, 2023. Subsequently, he launched several important Rail developmental projects in Telangana State including laying of foundation stone for redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway station, Dedication of Doubling and Electrification of Secunderabad – Mahabubnagar section to the Nation and Flagged off 13 New MMTS services in the suburban section of Hyderabad – Secunderabad twin city region at a function held in Parade Grounds, Secunderabad today i.e., 08th April, 2023.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor, Telangana State; Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India; Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development, North Eastern Region, Govt of India and Shri T. Srinivas Yadav, Hon’ble Minister, Govt. of Telangana (present at Secunderabad station) also graced the occasion. Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman and CEO, Railway Board;Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway and other senior Railway officials were also present. At Secunderabad station, prior to flagging off the Vande Bharat Express, Shri Narendra Modi carried out a brief inspection of the train and interacted with school students and crew members (loco pilot) of the inaugural special.
Addressing the gathering at Parade Grounds, Shri Narendra Modi stated that it is a blessed day for the people of Telangana as a new chapter unfolds in the Rail developmental plans of the State. He said that the new Vande Bharat train service which was flagged off from Secunderabad to Tirupati links the historic city of Bhagyanagar with the abode of Lord Sri Venkateswara in Tirupati. India’s symbol of pride on rail tracks, the Vande Bharat is connecting technology and tourism across the Nation, he said. Further, the Hon’ble Prime Minister stated that the central Government is moving forward with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas’ and is striving hard towards fulfilling the dreams of the people of Telangana State.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister stated that the NDA Government is committed towards all round development of Telangana State. He mentioned that in the past nine years, the Railway budget for Telangana State has been increased by almost 70%, which has led to the completion of several new lines, doubling, tripling and electrification of Rail routes across the state. He stated that the commissioning of doubling and electrification of Secunderabad – Mahbubnagar line and launching of 13 new MMTS services in the Secunderabad, Bolarum, Medchal, Umdanagar section is a proof of this. The Hon’ble Prime Minister also mentioned that Secunderabad Railway station is being redeveloped with a cost of Rs. 720 crores under the station upgradation scheme of the central government.
While concluding, Shri Narendra Modi reiterated his commitment towards the development of Telangana State. He stated that the Governmentwill strive harder to fasten the development and growth of Telangana in every sphere, on the basis of good governance.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, stated that Shri Narendra Modi has transformed Indian Railways in the past nine years. He stated that under the leadership of our dynamic Prime Minister, Railways is witnessing all round development with world class stations, trains and fast progress in completion of new lines, doubling and electrification projects. The Government is striving its best towards strengthening Rail network in Telangana State, he added.
Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister stated that the new Vande Bharat service between Secunderabad – Tirupati is a dream come true for every middle class family who have dreamed of receiving the blessings of Lord Venkateshwara. He informed that Secunderabad station which is the biggest station in Telangana State is being modernized with state of the art facilities and International standards which will serve the requirements of the public even upto the next 40 years. He also mentioned that with the support of the Hon’ble Prime Minister the Secunderabad – Mahbubnagar doubling and electrification project could be completed with a cost of Rs. 1410 crores. Further, Shri Kishan Reddy stated that today 13 new MMTS trains are flagged off by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister, which was a long pending dream of people of Telangana especially twin cities area.
