South Central Railway celebrated the 132ndBirth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, today i.e., 17th April, 2023 at SCR Headquarters, Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR and Shri Rajiv Kishore, Principal Chief Personnel Officer were the Guests of Honour. Principal Heads of Departments, other senior officials and staff members, senior leaders from recognized trade unions also participated in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is one of the most distinguished personalities in Indian History. Today, we celebrate the life and leadership of a great social reformer, economist and politician, he said. A firm believer of education and its transformative power, Baba Saheb encouraged the youth to educate and empower themselves to break the shackles of discrimination in the society. The General Manager stated all the Indians are grateful to him for unifying the Nation under one umbrella of Constitution, by overcoming Caste, Creed, and Communal divide.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that today as we celebrate the birth of this great leader we should reflect on Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and rethink our commitment towards social justice and equality in its true sense. We should work towards providing equal opportunities for all and strive towards building a more inclusive and just society that upholds the values of democracy, equality and humanity, he added.
Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager stated that Baba Saheb was a fighter who combated every difficult situation in his life. He never allowed his circumstances to limit his growth and as a result became a great leader whose contribution in the form of the Constitution of India will be cherished forever. He provided us with the long lasting constitutional framework which allowed India to progress into what it is today, he said. He stated that Dr. B.R Ambedkar is an inspiration to every Indian and we should carry forward his teachings and legacy.
