Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting on Safety of train operations & progress of various station Up-gradation works across the Zone today i.e., 15th May, 2023 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.
The General Manager held a detailed review on the progress of station up-gradation works at Secunderabad, Nellore and Tirupati. He reviewed the physical progress & financial progress of works at the three stations. He instructed the officials to monitor the progress of works in daily basis so that the projects need to complete in the given target dates. He also reviewed the status and progress of the development of stations being undertaken under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed safety of train operations over the zone. He focused on detention of trains due to working procedures which are resulting in reducing speeds of the trains. He instructed the officials to make action plan to improve operations and maintain the permissible speeds. He also reviewed in detail about the management of Goods Sheds and enhancement of capacity. He also reviewed the working of lifts / escalators in all the major stations. He instructed the officials to make a system to monitor the working of lifts and escalators on real time basis.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the maintenance facilities of Secunderabad – Tirupati Vande Bharat Express train which is scheduled to run with revised composition of 16 Coaches from 17th May, 2023. He also reviewed the progress of various on-going developmental projects including doubling, triple lines and electrification works across the zone. He advised the officials to strictly monitor all the track enhancement works by ensuring proper planning and execution of works so as to run the trains at maximum permissible speeds.
