Train no. 12841 Shalimar - Chennai Coromandal Express and Train no. 12864 SMVT Bengaluru – Howrah Superfast Express got derailed near BahanagaBazaar Railway station at around 18.55 Hrs on 02.06.2023.
Immediately Accident Relief train, SPARME, ART was ordered from Kharagpur, Balasore & Santragachi.
SPARMV KGP was ordered at 19.02 hrs and left KGP at 19.23 hrs. ART/MFD was ordered at the same time and left KGP at 19.36 Hrs.
ARME Bhadrak departed at 19.25 hrs, ART Bhadrak departed at 20.20 hrs, KHURDA SPARME departed at 20.35 hrs and Khurda ART departed at 21.48 hrs.
Rescue operations are being carried out at war footing scale. NDRF team, Medical team, Ambulances are at the accident site.
As of now, 02 numbers of casualties reported due to the tragic accident and 04 injured persons were hospitalized in the nearby hospital. Minorly injured passengers are being shifted to the Balasore, Khantapara, Soro and Gopalpur Health units on priority. Helpdesk are opened at Howrah, Santragachi, Shalimar, Kharagpur and Balasore.
