PR No. 163 - Achievements of RPF for the month May-2023

The prime objective of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) is to carry o­n the unrelenting fight against criminals in protection of Railway property, facilitate passenger security and safety.  RPF is always in the forefront at times even risking their own lives to safeguard the Railway property and also the lives of passengers.  In order to give focused attention to the safety of Railway property, Passenger security and providing assistance to passengers while taking coordinated action with Government Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, RPF has launched several operations and recorded noteworthy performance. 

1.Under “Operation YATRI SURAKSHA” during May- 2023, RPF/SCR has arrested 44 offenders and recovered stolen property worth 9.69 lakhs with registration of 28 cases against them.

2.Under “Operation AMANAT”, RPF personnel provided help in securing passenger belongings and handed over them to rightful owners.RPF retrieved more than 172 belongings of passengers valued at more than 44.00 lakhs in the month of May-2023

3.RPF has launched “Operation NARCOS” to curb narcotic smuggling through Railways. Under this operation, RPF has confiscated Ganja valued more than 1.62 lakhs with the arrest of 05 persons during the month of May-2023.

4.Under “Operation NANHE FARISTE” RPF, SCR undertook the noble cause of identifying and rescuing children in need of care and protection who are lost/separated from their family due to various reasons.114 children (96 Boys + 18 girls) have been provided safety by RPF/SCR in the month of May-2023

5.RPF has launched “Operation AAHT” under this mission in the month of May-2023, RPF/SCR has rescued 55 boys from the clutches of Traffickers.

6.Under “Operation SATARK” in the month of May-2023,liquor worth 1,38,810/- transporting illegally through trains was seized with arrest of 8 persons and subsequently handed over to Excise Department, who registered 9 cases against the offenders

7.RPF has launched “Operation UPALABDHto curb the activities of touts substantially and make railway tickets available to the common man.During the month of May-2023, 19 cases were registered by RPF/SCR with arrest of 17 Touts with seizure of 62 live tickets and total tickets valued Rs.10.46 lakhs.

8.By using the CCTV technology, RPF/SCR apprehended 02 offenders and recovered stolen passenger property worth Rs.63,000/-.

9.RPF has launched “Operation RAIL SURAKSHA” to curb the activities of offences against the railway property.  During the month of May-2023, 21 cases were detected by recovering the stolen railway property worth Rs.3,72,335/-
