Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway participated in a safety seminar conducted at Electric Traction Training Centre (ETTC), Vijayawada Division today i.e., 15th June, 2023. Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, senior Railway officials, branch officers, supervisors and staff were also present.

 

Later, the General Manager also participated in a safety seminar at Rail Mahal, Guntur. Shri M. Ramakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntur Division and branch officers, senior supervisors and staff from Guntur Division were also present.

 

During the Safety seminars, a detailed presentation was given by the divisions to the General Manager o­n different areas of focus for enhancing safety of train operations. The divisions emphasized o­n safety aspects of different wings such as operating, electrical, engineering and mechanical. Further, the divisions also briefed the General Manager o­n precautionary measures being undertaken for the ensuing monsoon season. An interactive session was also held wherein the thoughts, queries and concerns of frontline staff were addressed.

 

Addressing the gathering of frontline staff and supervisors, Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that Safety should always be given the top priority and there should be no compromise when it comes to safe running of trains. All guidelines and regulations pertaining to safety of train operations should be taken seriously and complied to without fail, he said. He stated that the staff should have a positive mindset and always focus o­n the main goal of Railways which is transportation with safety.The General Manager stated that the frontline staffs are the eyes and ears of the management and proper co-ordination between them is necessary. He also emphasized o­n practical, o­n-the-job training to all field level staff to ensure deep and thorough knowledge of the assigned works.

 

Later, the General Manager held meetings with section controllers and branch officers at the Divisional Railway Managers offices. He advised the staff not to adopt any shortcut methods and ensure compliance of all safety guidelines.

 

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager also flagged off the 1st Iron Ore Goods train from the newly extended line at Manikgarh goods shed through video conferencing from Divisional Railway Manager’s Office at Vijayawada. Shri B. Nagya, Principal Chief Operations Manager, SCR; Shri A.K Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad division and other officials also joined the program virtually from Rail Nilayam.
