PR No. 191- Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR Reviews Pre-Monsoon Safety Preparedness

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway has conducted a detailed review meeting o­n monsoon preparedness in view of monsoon season across the zone today i.e., 19thJune, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the meeting through Video conference.

The General Manager instructed officials to strengthen patrolling at all identified vulnerable sections such as tracks, bridges and locations with approaching monsoon season to prevent unsafe conditions. He also informed the concerned officials to ensure cleaning and maintenance of side water drains and waterways to avoid flooding of tracks and ensure smooth running of trains. He advised the officials and staff to strictly adhere to safe working condition of equipment, proper maintenance of registers pertaining to train operations and undertake all necessary pre-monsoon precautions.

The General Manager stated that all supervisors should constantly monitor the field level activity and any issue should be attended instantly and rectified at the earliest. He also advised the officials to regularly sensitize the safety category staff through seminars and counselling sessions. The General Manager also reviewed Freight loading and Punctuality performances of the all the divisions and advised the officials to continuously monitor train movements to ensure timely dispatch is trains enhance mobility.

The General Manager also reviewed the performance is the infrastructure maintenance works like track maintenance works, safety related works, Non-Interlocking works, traffic blocks and power blocks throughout the Zone. He stressed in improving the safety aspects of train operations, while also easing train movements.
