PR No. 193 - All The Safety Procedures Should be Strictly Followed to Ensure Safety In Train Operations -Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR

Shri Arun Kumar Jain laid emphasis o­n strict adherence to safety precautions to ensure safety and punctuality in train operations, during the safety seminar held at Rail Club, Guntakal today i.e., 20th June, 2023. Shri K. Venkatramana Reddy, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division, Railway officials, branch officers, supervisors and staff attended the seminar.

 

Addressing the gathering of frontline staff and supervisors, General Manager appealed to the staff involved in train operations and maintenance to avoid any short cut methods and comply with all safety requirements and procedures, without fail. The General Manager stated that proper co-ordination and understanding is highly necessary between the field level staff and supervisors to achieve the goal of Railways which is transportation with safety. He advised the staff to have a positive mindset and always be focused while performing their duties.He also emphasized o­n practical, o­n-the-job training to all field level staff to ensure deep and thorough knowledge of the assigned works.

 

At the Safety seminar, the divisional officials gave a detailed presentation to the General Manager o­n department wise measures being undertaken for enhancing safety of train operations.The division laid focus o­n safety aspects of different branches such as Operating, Signal & Telecommunications, Electrical, Engineering and Mechanical. An interactive session was held wherein the thoughts, queries and concerns of frontline staff were addressed by the General Manager and Divisional Railway Manager.

 

Later, Arun Kumar Jain held a meeting with section controllers at the Divisional Railway Managers office. He advised the staff to accord top priority to scheduled maintenance and safety works across the divisions. During the meeting, the General Manager also emphasized o­n improving the working hours of running staff including loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, guards, track maintainers etc., and advised the officials to ensure provision of proper rest and relief to them as they are performing critical train operations.
