Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway inspected Yadadri Railway station and reviewed the proposed MMTS Phase – II extension project upto Yadadri today i.e., 20thJuly, 2023. He was accompanied by Shri Munna Kumar, Chief Project Manager, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Shri A.K Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior Railway officials during the inspection.

The MMTS Phase - II extension from Ghatkesar to Yadadri was sanctioned in the year 2016-17 with an estimated cost of Rs. 330 Crore. The project involved laying of additional line between Ghatkesar to Yadadri (Raigir) for a distance of 33 Kms apart from the existing two lines. The project also includes provision of additional infrastructural facilities at stations and yards viz Ghatkesar, Bibinagar, Bhongir and Yadadri. The project is being executed by RVNL and was originally planned as a joint venture between Railways and the Govt. of Telangana. The revised estimate for the project was sanctioned at an approximate cost of Rs. 430 crore. However, Railway Board has now decided to execute the project with 100% Railway funding.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain also conducted a detailed inspection of Yadadri Railway station and reviewed the passenger amenities and facilities. Considering, the importance of the station, Railways has decided to go for major upgradation of the station. While, a new station building will be coming up on the eastern side as part of the MMTS Extension, the existing station on the western side is also being taken up for upgradation as part of the "Amrit Bharath" Station Scheme.

The tenders for the station redevelopment project, as part of Amrit Bharat Station scheme has already been awarded. The works to be taken up as part of station upgradation includes construction of Cover over platforms (COP), Facade development and Station Building improvements among others.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway has said that both extension of MMTS as well as Yadadri station development are important project that have been taken up Railways. The completion of both the works will give a major fillip to this important temple town station, by providing enhanced passenger services and higher train connectivity to rail passengers.
