First “Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga” Southern Circuit Train & Tenth Bharat Gaurav Train from SCR Commences Journey from Secunderabad

·Tour covers Tiruvannamalai [Arunachalam], Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Trichy and Thanjavur

·The trains have been provided boarding / de-boarding facilities for passengers in across 10 stations in the two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

The Bharat Gaurav Trains from South Central Railways continues to witness huge response from rail users. Enthused by the spontaneous response of rail passengers, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has planned a new tourist circuit namely, Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga during Shravan Month. The Southern Tourist Circuit Train provides a unique opportunity to pilgrim passengers from the two Telugu states to visit important pilgrim tourist centres in the Southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The train commenced its first trip today i.e., 09th August, 2023 from Secunderabad Railway station.

The first Divya Dakshin Yatra and the tenth Bharat Gaurav Train from SCR commenced its journey, with Smt & Shri Seema Upadhyay, Residents of Lucknow, o­ne of the rail yatris in the train, who have travelled all the way from Lucknow to Secunderabad to take part in Divya Dakshin Yatra. Shri P. Rajkumar, Group General Manager, IRCTC and other IRCTC officials were also present.

The Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga offers unique opportunity for all rail passengers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to have darshan of o­ne of the Jyotirlinga (Rameshwaram), while also covering important pilgrim and tourist places at Tiruvannamalai [Arunachalam], Madurai, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Trichy and Thanjavur. Significantly, the train provides boarding / de-boarding facility for the passengers at Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana as well as Vijayawada, Tenali, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur & Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh. The whole trip will be covered over a period of 8 nights / 9 days period.

Given the unique opportunity the train provides to the rail passengers, passengers not o­nly from Secunderabad railway station but also from enroute stations have come forward to avail the Bharat Gaurav Train services. The train provides opportunity to both AC and Non-AC passengers with a mixed composition – 2 AC (1), 3 AC (3) and Sleeper (7). Reflecting the patronage of all segments, rail passengers from both Secunderabad Station as well as enroute stations have availed both AC as well as Non-AC train services.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR has expressed his happiness at the good response received from the passengers for the Bharat Gaurav Tourist train from SCR. He stated that the train provides a great opportunity to pilgrim passengers to visit culturally prominent and historical places without hassle of planning individual itinerary items. He also stated that Bharat Gaurav trains will give major fillip to the growth of spiritual Tourism in the country.
