Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM/SCR Presents ‘Man of the Month’ Safety Awards to Staff

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 37employees who have shown alertness and dedication to the duty over the zone during a virtual safety review meeting held today i.e., 14th August, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.   

 Shri Arun Kumar Jain presented the “Man of the month” safety awards to 37 employees of the zone o­n virtual mode (Secunderabad Division- 04, Vijayawada Division-12, Guntakal Division-11, Nanded Division-06, Hyderabad Division-02 and Guntur-02) for showing alertness and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions.The awardees physically received the awards at the hands of Divisional Railway Managers at their respective Divisions. The employees belonged to various categories like loco pilots, Station Masters, Technicians, Points man, Key/Gate Man and Track maintainers etc. The General Manager congratulated the awardees and appreciated them for the commitment in performing duties with utmost dedication. He also stated that these awards will motivate other employees to work sincerely with devotion towards safety, which will help the railways for safe operation of trains.

 Later, Shri Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review of the safety of train operations over the zone. He instructed the officials to focus o­n safety related works such as provision of additional loop lines, doubling and tripling works. He also instructed to continue the safety drives over the zone and to carryout surprises inspections to ensure alertness and avoid untoward incidents. He also reviewed o­n minor incidents like brake bindings, asset failures etc. He instructed the DRMs to resolve the minor failures jointly by involving all the departments to avoid delay in attending the safety related works. General manager further discussed o­n safety action plan for the year 2023-24 in detailed.

             He discussed o­n the punctuality statistics of the train operations and advised the officials to improve the punctuality and make proactive action plans for optimal utilization of the man power during traffic blocks, asset failures etc. He also instructed the officials to focus o­n punctuality of MMTS services too and advised to make plans to minimize cancellations. He also instructed to utilize the rolling stock in efficient way to avoid public complaints.
