-SCR undertakes 15 day special safety drive for prevention of fire incidents
Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed review meeting on Safety of train operations across the Zone today i.e., 28th August, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.
During the meeting, Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed in detail the special safety drive undertaken across all six divisions of the zone for prevention of fire incidents in trains. The General Manager advised the officials to carry out intensive checks to prevent carriage of unauthorized items (such as flammables) by the passengers. He reiterated that all the on-board staff should be counseled to be vigilant and take prompt action. The General Manager also advised the staff members to strictly adhere to safe working condition of equipments and also ensure prominent display of no smoke signs in coaches.
Further, Shri Arun Kumar Jain directed the officials to conduct regular safety inspections in addition to safety drives to ensure compliance of all worksite safety requirements without fail. He advised the supervisors to take up result oriented and focused counseling sessions for the field level staff. The General Manager also reviewed the working hours of running staff including loco pilots and advised the officials to take all necessary actions to provide appropriate relief, wherever required.
The General Manager also discussed on the freight loading performance of the zone for the current financial year i.e., 2023-24. He commended the Officers and staff for the performance during the current financial year. He advised the officials to continue the efforts to further improve the freight loading so as to meet the requirements of the freight customers and achieve the targets set for the year.
