Strictly Implement Safety Procedures in Train Operations - Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM/SCR

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held safety review meeting o­n safety of train operations, loading performance and progress of various developmental works across the zone today i.e., 04th September, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded and Chief Workshop Managers of Lalaguda and Tirupati joined the review meeting through video conference.   

Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed the safety of train operations over the zone. He instructed the officials to strictly adhere to safety procedures to ensure the safe running of the trains. He advised to regularly counsel the staff like loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and staff who are involved in the working of train operations so as to instruct them not to follow short cut methods.  He advised the officials to focus o­n to intensifying the inspections to ensure safe passage of trains. He also advised the officials to conduct frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review o­n loading of Cement, Food Grains, Coal and other commodities etc. He also instructed the officials to accord priority for loading activity related to Coal, Food grains and Fertilizers in view of the seasonal demands. He advised the officials to improve the loading performance in total and reach the target set in the financial year.

Further, General Manager reviewed plans for improving the average speed, discussed o­n long haul trains and advised to improve speed of goods trains. Officials also briefed the GM o­n infrastructural improvements to be taken up o­n the zone, commissioning of new signaling, yard remolding and commissioning of bypass lines o­n the zone.
