This is the Second trip of “Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga” & Eleventh Bharat Gaurav Train from SCR
The Bharat Gaurav Trains from South Central Railway, launched to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical places continue to witness huge response from rail users across the Telugu States. In view of the overwhelming response received from passengers, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has planned a new tourist circuit namely, Divya Dakshin Yatra which offers a unique opportunity to visit important pilgrim tourist centres in the Southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The train commenced its second trip today i.e., 05th September, 2023 from Secunderabad Railway station.
The second Divya Dakshin Yatra and the eleventh Bharat Gaurav Train from SCR commenced its journey with Smt. & Shri Ramakanth Ray who performed the ribbon cutting ceremony; they are pilgrim passengers who travelled all the way from Bihar to take part in the Divya Dakshin Yaatra. Shri B. Nagya, Principal Chief Operations Manager, SCR and IRCTC officials were also present on the occasion.
The Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga offers a unique opportunity to all rail passengers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States to have darshan of one of the Jyotirlinga (Rameshwaram), while also covering important pilgrim and tourist places at Tiruvannamalai [Arunachalam], Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Trichy and Thanjavur. Significantly, the train provides boarding / de-boarding facility for the passengers at Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana as well as Vijayawada, Tenali, ongole, Nellore, Gudur & Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh. The whole trip will be covered over a period of 8 nights / 9 days period.
Given the unique experience and opportunity that the train provides to pilgrims, passengers not only from Secunderabad railway station but also from the en-route stations have come forward to avail the services of Bharat Gaurav Trains. The train provides seating facilities to both AC and Non-AC passengers with a mixed composition – 2 AC, 3 AC and Sleeper. Reflecting the patronage of all segments, rail passengers from Secunderabad as well as enroute stations have availed both AC as well as Non-AC train services.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR expressed happiness at the huge positive response received from the passengers for the Bharat Gaurav Tourist train from SCR. He stated that the Bharat Gaurav trains are a great choice for pilgrim passengers who wish to visit culturally prominent and historical places without the hassle of planning individual itinerary items. He also stated that Bharat Gaurav trains will give major fillip to the growth of spiritual Tourism in the country.
