-The project execution cost is estimated at around Rs.12, 408 crs.

-It covers 40% of Telangana region and is likely to connect important towns like Vikarabad, Sanga Reddy, Medak, Akanapet, Siddipet, Gajwel, Yadadri, Bhuvanagiri, Ramannapet, Chityala, Narayanapur, Shadnagar, Shabad.

Giving special focus for strengthening rail connectivity in the State of Telangana, Ministry of Railways has sanctioned nearly 15 Final Location Survey (FLS) for New Railway Lines. These lines combinedly stretch for a distance of nearly 2,647 kms and is estimated to cost nearly Rs. 50,848 Crs. Apart from these, another 11 projects FLS have been sanctioned for Doubling, Tripling and Quadrapling for a distance of nearly 2,588 kms and is estimated to cost nearly Rs. 32,695 crs.

This Outer Ring Rail New Railway Line is one of the important projects for which Final Location Survey (FLS) has been sanctioned by the Railway Ministry. This important line is likely to stretch for a distance of nearly 564 Kms and is estimated to cost nearly Rs. 12,408 Crs. It is proposed to construct Outer Ring Rail on exterior periphery of Regional Ring Road with Rail over Rail at Akanapet, Yadadri, Chityal, Burgula, Vikarabad, Gate Vanampalli, Medak, Siddipet and Gajwel. This line traverses through districts of Vikarabad, Medak, Siddipet, Kamareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy. It also connects important towns like Vikarabad, Sanga Reddy, Medak, Akanapet, Siddipet, Gajwel, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ramannapet, Chityala, Narayanapur, Shadnagar, Shabad.

It provides an effective multi modal connectivity for the new satellite townships and industrial zones which are likely to develop in the upcoming Regional Ring Road.It enables introduction of additional sub-urban services to Hyderabad. It also enables increasing the long-distance services from Hyderabad to various parts of the country. Due to rapid expansion of Hyderabad city, the suburban area has been extended to 90 Kms resulting in increase of Passengers trains//MMTS trains. These have huge impact on freight movement. To avoid cascading effects on freight trains and to provide hassle free movement over these highly saturated sections, a separate freight corridor Bypass Rail Ring Road around Hyderabad-Secunderabad-Kacheguda region is very much essential for seamless flow of traffic.

Ministry of Railways has been giving special focus towards rail development in Telangana. Over the past 9 years, the rail budget allocation to the State has been increased by almost 17 times i.e., from Rs. 258 crores in 204-15 to Rs. 4,418 crs. This has led to creation of new rail infrastructure in the State. Over the past nine years, almost 575 kms of rail has been added to the rail network in the State. The sanctioning of Final Location Survey (FLS) FOR 15 New Railway Lines is likely to give further thrust to the rail development in the state.
