Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a detailed review meeting on Safety of train operations and strengthening of working system in the zone today i.e., 25th September, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review of the safety of train operations over the zone. He instructed the officials and staff to strictly adhere to the safety rules and procedures as per the Railway board guidelines issued from time to time. He also stressed on ensuring the safety in train operations and instructed not to follow any shortcut methods. He instructed the officials/staff to be more vigilant and serious while on duty. He also instructed to continue the safety drives and live demonstrations to be organized. He also instructed the officials to maintain cautious working at manned level crossings.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed in detail about the availability of Fire Safety equipment across the zone. He instructed upon Proper maintenance of wiring, switches and availability of Smoke detecting devices in the passenger Trains. He instructed to intensify the Railway Protection Force patrolling to curb the transportation of inflammable materials and also be vigilant with the passengers smoking inside the trains. He instructed to launch continuous drives to mitigate rat menace both in trains and at yards.
While discussing on crew working hours, he instructed all the DRMs to meticulously plan on proper rest to be given to the crew at appropriate time and discussed on the facilities available at running rooms over the zone.
