-GM/SCR Presents ‘Man of the Month’ Safety Awards to Staff
Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 12employees who have shown alertness and dedication to the duty over the zone during a virtual safety review meeting held today i.e., 13th October, 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain presented the “Man of the month” safety awards to 12 employees of the zone on virtual mode (Secunderabad Division- 03, Vijayawada Division-03, Guntakal Division-03, Nanded Division-01, Hyderabad Division-01 and Guntur-01) for showing alertness and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions.The awardees physically received the awards at the hands of Divisional Railway Managers at their respective Divisions. The employees belonged to various categories like loco pilots, Station Master, Technicians, Points man, Key/Gate Man and Track maintainers etc. The General Manager congratulated the awardees and appreciated them for the commitment in performing duties with utmost dedication. He also stated that these awards will motivate other employees to work sincerely with devotion towards safety, which will help the railways for safe operation of trains.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed the safety of train operations over the zone. He instructed the officials to strictly adhere to safety procedures to ensure the safe running of the trains. He advised to regularly counsel the staff like loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and staff who are involved in the working of train operations so as to instruct them not to follow short cut methods. He advised the officials to focus on to intensifying the inspections to ensure safe passage of trains. He also advised the officials to conduct frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements.
Shri Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review on loading of Cement, Food Grains, Coal and other commodities etc. He also instructed the officials to accord priority for loading activity related to Coal, Food grains and Fertilizers in view of the seasonal demands. He also discussed on the punctuality statistics of the train operations and advised the officials to improve the punctuality and make proactive action plans for optimal utilization of the man power during traffic blocks, asset failures etc.
