Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister Flags off Jalna – Mumbai Vande Bharat Express


 

Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India flagged off the Jalna – Mumbai CSMT Vande Bharat Express today i.e., 30thDecember, 2023 through remote video link from Ayodhya in the presence of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh.

Simultaneously, a function was held at Jalna Railway station wherein Shri Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Govt. of India and Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra graced the occasion. Shri Atul Save, Hon’ble Minister for Housing, Other Backward Bahujan Welfare, Government of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister, Jalna District; Shri Ambadas Danve, Leader of Opposition, Legislative Council, Maharashtra, Hon’ble MLAs and other public representatives were also present o­n the occasion. Shri Arun Kumar, General Manager, SCR along with other senior Railway officials also participated in the program.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve stated that 30th December will remain as a remarkable day in the history of Jalna as the first Vande Bharat train from Jalna to Mumbai has been flagged off by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He stated that under the able leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister, the first Vande Bharat train has been introduced from the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. He stated that infrastructure development works have witnessed major progress from 2014. During the current financial year, a budget of Rs. 12,000 crore has been allocated for the state of Maharashtra which is a huge increase as compared to the year 2014, he said.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Dy. CM stated that today is a momentous occasion as the Vande Bharat train has commenced the services from Jalna to Mumbai. He expressed gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister for providing the semi-high speed train to the people of Marathwada region. He stated that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Rail developmental works are progressing at a large scale across the Nation. Railway infrastructure works of Rs. 1.06 lakh crores are under progress in Maharashtra, he said. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the Vande Bharat train has world class facilities and is o­n par with advanced trains in European countries.

The Jalna – Mumbai (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) Vande Bharat Express will not o­nly connect important cities in the Marathwada region like Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) with the State Capital i.e., Mumbai but also with other important cities of the State like Manmad, Nasik, Kalyan, Thane and Dadar. The train provides fast, secure, safe and most comfortable travel option for passengers in the section.

The Vande Bharat express has been provided with convenient train timings facilitating day time travel from Jalna, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and other towns’. Passengers will be able to reach Mumbai by Noon and also return during by evening / night time. The Jalna – Mumbai Vande Bharat Express boosts tourism in region by providing increased and comfortable travel options to visit important pilgrim places like Rajur Ganesh Temple (in Jalna); Ajanta Ellora Caves, Grishneswar Jyotirlinga Temple (near Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar); Shirdi (near Manmad); Gateway of India, Siddi Vinayak Temple, etc (in Mumbai).

The train covers the distance of 434.36 kms from Jalna to Mumbai in 6 hrs 50 min, significantly less than any other train between the two destinations. The Jalna – Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week (except Wednesday) with day journey in either direction. The train will have 08 coaches with a capacity of around 530 passengers.
