SCR restores Train Movement of Charminar Express


·The return journey of Charminar Express i.e., Train No. 12760 Hyderabad – Tambaram commenced its journey as per its scheduled timings from the station.

 

·Three derailed Coaches were re-railed and track restored for regular train movements.

 

·There was no impact o­n the movement of other trains.

 

Train No.12759 Tambaram – Hyderabad Charminar express, while rolling o­n to the Platform No.5 of Hyderabad station hit the dead end of track, resulting in the derailment of three coaches S2.S3 and S6 today i.e., o­n 10th January, 2024 at around 08.45 hrs. The six passengers who suffered injuries in the incident were provided with medical assistance at Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda.

Immediately, o­n receipt of the information, a team of Railway officials led by Shri Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR undertook the relief and restoration operation. Officials and staff from the concerned branches immediately undertook restoration works and promptly cleared the coaches for examination after re-railing the affected coaches. The affected track was also restored for regular train movements.

The incident did not impact the regular train movements at the station. Trains from the station were operated in normal manner. The return journey of the affected train i.e., Train No. 12760 Hyderabad – Tambaram Charminar Express also started as per its scheduled time.

The Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle will hold a statutory enquiry into the above incident.
