Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India will inaugurate Sanathnagar – Moula-Ali Railway line Doubling and Electrification along with 6 New Station Buildings and Flag off of the New MMTS Train Service in the New Suburban Section between Ghatkesar – Lingampalli (via Moula-Ali – Sanathnagar) on 05thMarch, 2024 at a function to be held at Sangareddy.

The doubling and electrification of Sanathnagar – Moula-Ali section has been completed as part of the MMTS (Multi Modal Transport Service) Phase – II project. The entire 22 Route kms of the project has been constructed with Automatic signaling system at a cost of Rs. 343 crores. As part of it, six new station buildings will come up at Ferozguda, Suchitra Centre, Bhudevinagar, Ammuguda, Neredmet and Moula Ali Housing Board stations. Doubling and Electrification of Sanathnagar – Moula Ali paves the way for the introduction of passenger trains for the first time in this section. It will reduce the burden on the highly saturated Secunderabad – Moula Ali and Secunderabad – Lingampalli sections. It will also help in reducing the detention of trains; improve punctuality and average speed of the trains.

Earlier, Sanathnagar – Moula Ali section was a single line open to only freight trains. Now, not only has the section been doubled and electrified but the whole section is being opened to handle passenger traffic as well. As part of doubling and electrification, Six New Station buildings have also been developed in the section which will be able to handle passenger traffic. All the newly opened MMTS stations have been provided with modern passenger amenities, high level platform, Foot over bridge, platform shelters, etc. The 6 Stations are:Ferozguda, Suchitra Centre, Bhudevinagar, Ammuguda, Neredmet and Moula Ali HB Colony.

The MMTS Train Service from Ghatkesar – Lingampalli via Moula Ali – Sanathnagar extends the popular suburban train service in the Hyderabad – Secunderabad twin city regions to new areas for the first time. It connects the new areas in the eastern part of the city like Cherlapalli, Moula Ali with the Western part of the twin city region. The introduction new MMTS Train service in these sections will provide the safest, fastest and most economical modes of transport connecting the eastern with the western part of the twin city region. It will be particularly beneficial for students, small business people, employees etc.

This train extends jurisdiction of MMTS Services in the Suburban Section of Hyderabad-Secunderabad Twin Cities from the existing 90 Kms (44 Stations) to 123.52 kms
(53 Stations). Importantly, it extends the MMTS Train Service beyond Secunderabad Station in Eastern side and connects it with the Business and Financial District Hub in the Western part. The 48 km long East – West Corridor served by the train will connect residential areas of Ghatkesar, Cherlapalli, Mallapur, Neredmet, ECIL, Suchitra, Bhudevinagar etc with the Business and financial district of Hyderabad.
