SCR Celebrates 133rd Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar






South Central Railway celebrated the 133rd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, today i.e., 15th April, 2024 at SCR Headquarters, Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway was the Chief Guest o­n the occasion. Shri P. Kishore Babu, Principal Chief Personnel Officer was the Guest of Honour. Principal Heads of Departments, other senior officials and staff members, senior leaders from SC&ST, OBC associations and recognized trade unions also participated in the program and paid floral tributes to Dr. B.R Ambedkar.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri R. Dhananjayulu stated that the legacy of Dr. B.R Ambedkar is to encourage and inspire generations of Indians to realize their full potential through education and social reform. He stated that irrespective of caste, creed and religion all Indians are the beneficiaries of the great legacy of Dr. Ambedkar. Setting aside his personal family and health, Dr. Ambedkar worked relentlessly towards the upliftment of the deprived and equality of all Indians until his last breath, he said. The additional General Manager stated that Dr. Ambedkar was not just an educationist but also an economist, Politian, social reformer and a champion of women and labour rights.

He stated that Dr. B.R Ambedkar has provided us with the long lasting constitutional framework which enables and empowers each and every citizen irrespective of their socio-economic status and other factors. He said that today we should reaffirm our commitment and imbibe the true spirit of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. He called upon each o­ne to teach young children the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar particularly treating fellow Indian with equality. He said that we should treat everyone with equality and respect, not just at our workplaces but also in our homes. Let us respect the great soul and live up to his ideals, he added.

Addressing the gathering, Shri P. Kishore Babu stated that Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s life is a great testament to resilience, intellect and unwavering dedication to the upliftment of the oppressed class of the society. As the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, he laid down the framework of a just society ensuring equality, justice and liberty for all its citizens. His tireless advocacy for the rights of the marginalized sections continues to inspire generations, he said. o­n this occasion, let us not o­nly honour his memory but also reaffirm our commitment to the principles of Baba Saheb, he added. Earlier, representatives of SCR SC&ST; OBC and Trade Union leaders expressed their views o­n Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
