PR No. 156 - SCR Observes 10th International Day of YOGA – 2024

South Central Railway observed the 10th International Day of Yoga at Indoor Stadium, Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad today i.e., 21st June, 2024. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR was the Chief Guest o­n the occasion. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, Shri P. Kishore Babu, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Principal Heads of Departments, Officials and Staff also took part in the program. Live streaming of the program was also relayed o­n SCR’s Social media platforms to enable other staff and officers of the zone to witness & participate through virtual mode. This year the theme is ‘Yoga for Self and Society’ and the focus is o­n enhancing personal well-being and improving society at large.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR stated that Yoga is a gift of the nation to the World. He stated that Yoga synchronizes the power of body and mind thereby rejuvenating physical and mental well-being. The General Manager stated that Yoga should not be just a o­ne day activity but a daily practice. He advised the staff to continue practicing Yoga regularly to improve health and attain inner peace.

Shri Murari Mohan, renowned Yoga Teacher and State Coordinator for Art of Living Society, Hyderabad conducted the session with Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation and Sankalpam etc., A pledge was also administered to the participants for practicing Yoga in daily life. Shri Murari Mohan called upon the gathering to practice Yoga every day to lead a stress-free life. He stated that Yoga is especially important for employees who are working under pressure or stressful environment.

International Yoga Day 2024:This year marks the 10th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.” Yoga, a transformative practice, represents the harmony of mind and body, the balance between thought and action, and the unity of restraint and fulfillment. It integrates the body, mind, spirit, and soul, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being that brings peace to our hectic lives. Its power to transform is what we celebrate o­n this special day.
