Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR holds Safety Review Meeting

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed review meeting o­n safety of train operations across the zone today i.e., 24th June, 2024 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.  Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

The General Manager while reviewing the safety of train operations, instructed the officials to strictly adhere to safety procedures to ensure the safe running of the trains. He advised that regular counseling sessions along with practical demonstration of safe working practices should be arranged to field level staff like loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, points-men, Station masters and other staff members who are involved in the working of train operations. He instructed the officials to adopt and implement best possible methodology to the unusual incidents noticed in train running. All the concerned departments must put a synchronized effort to resolve the problems without delay.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain further discussed o­n safety action plan. He instructed all the DRMs to install CCTV surveillance in the major railway yards to curb the miscreant activities and safeguard the railway assets. He instructed the officials to ensure the safety measures while executing the works related to track maintenance. He reviewed the stock position of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers over the zone and he instructed the officials to ensure the sufficient stocks of all fire safety equipment. He also instructed to ensure sufficient quantity of Linen over the zone. 

He also discussed o­n the crew working hours and instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to meticulously plan o­n proper rest to be given to the crew members. Further, General Manager reviewed the progress of o­ngoing works over the Zone. He instructed the officials to speed up the works and complete them within the target time to ensure best punctuality.
