This endeavour of SCR towards cleanliness marks the continuation of the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” to achieve the National target for total cleanliness by the year 2019.  The Swachhta Pledge was administered to the Officers and Staff by their respective Heads.

In order to attain the objective of maintaining cleanliness, a mass movement is being taken up on SCR duly involving Railway Officers and Staff at all levels and also taking up public awareness campaigns seeking the co-operation of passengers in maintaining Railway premises clean.

2)   Shri G.Laxminarayan, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR administered the “Swachtta Pledge” to the Officers and staff of Commercial Department at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad today i.e., 1st October, 2015.

3)    Smt Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, SCR administered the “Swatchhta Pledge” to the Officers and Staff of Hyderabad Division on 30thSeptember, 2015 at Hyderabad Bhavan, Secunderabad.

The Pledge reads as follows:-

 Swachh Bharat Pledge

Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of an India which was not only free but also clean and developed. Mahatma Gandhi secured freedom for Mother India. Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean.

“I take this pledge that I will remain committed towards Cleanliness and Devote time for this.

I will devote 100 hours per year that is 2 hours per week to voluntary work for Cleanliness.

I will neither litter not let other Litter.

I will initiate the quest for Cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place.

I believe that the countries of the world that appear clean are so because their citizens don’t indulge in littering nor do they allow it to happen

With this firm belief, I will propagate the message of Swachh Bharat Mission in villages and towns.

I will encourage 100 other persons to take this pledge which I am taking today.

I will endeavour to make them devote their 100 hours for Cleanliness.

I am confident that every step I take towards Cleanliness will help in making my country clean.”
