South Central Railway has received 3 National Energy Conservation Awards announced by Bureau of Energy Efficiency/Ministry of Power, Government of India. These awards are declared for the year 2020 on occasion of 30thNational energy conservation awards. Shri R.K.Singh, Hon’ble minister of state (IC) Power & new renewable energy, Government of India presented these awards to Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South central railway and Shri Somesh Kumar, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, South Central Railway today i.e., on 11th January, 2021 through virtual platform from New Delhi.
As a part of National Energy Conservation Awards, the Awards received in different categories by the Zone are –
1. Diesel Loco Shed, Vijayawada got the First prize in INDUSTRY/Railway Workshops Category
2. Lekha Bhavan (SCR Accounts Office Building) got the Second Prize in BUILDINGS/Government Offices Category
3. South Central Railway Zone got the Certificate of Merit in TRANSPORT/Zonal Railways Category
With the innovative and effective implementation of various Energy Conservation measures by the South Central Railway, for the past 9 years consistently the zone has been recipient of Energy Conservation Awards from Bureau of Energy Efficiency/Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway stated that receiving3 prestigious awards at National level is a great achievement and it indicates commitment shown by each and every employee of the Zone. He complimented Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, SCR, Divisional Railway Managers, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and officers staff who were instrumental in this achievement.
