South Central Railway has bagged two All India Performance Efficiency Shields for the year 2021. SCR has attained this recognition at National level for best performance in various fields. The zone has received two shields in Performance Efficiency viz., Stores shield and Civil Engineering shield (Jointly with West Central Railway).
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR expressed his happiness and congratulated the team of officials and staff for their exemplary contribution which led to SCR bagging two All India Performance Efficiency Shields. The General Manager advised the team to focus on new areas and innovations to further enhance the performance across the zone.
Stores Shield has been bagged by South Central Railway. SCR has been a pioneer in disposal of scrap and ensured that all the three major scrap depots at Lallaguda, Rayanapadu and Tirupati are declared as scrap free. SCR has also recorded the lowest turnover ratio amongst all zones on Indian Railways. Further, procurement of goods and services through Gem portal has also been effectively implemented across South Central Railway.
Civil Engineering Shield is jointly bagged by South Central Railway along with West Central Railway. As per the initiative taken by Railway Board, SCR is in the lead in elimination of Manned Level Crossings on mission mode by construction of Road Under Bridges/Limited Height Subways (RUBs/LHS) duly adopting Innovative methods. In addition, taking advantage of less mobility of train services, the zone has undertaken track maintenance works on war-footing in a large scale with consistent good performance amongst all zones across Indian Railways.
