PR No. 48 SCR's Railway Protection Force - Committed to Safety and Security of Rail Passengers



The prime objective of the RPF is to carry o­n the unrelenting fight against criminals in protecting railway property, facilitate passenger Security and Safety. In order to give focused attention to safety of Railway property, Passenger Security and providing assistance to passengers while taking co-ordinated action with Government police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, RPF has launched several operations in 2022 and recorded noteworthy performance.

Ø Under “Mission Jeevan Raksha” RPF personnel, risking their own lives, saved 21 (13 Male + 08 Female) persons during the month of March 2022.

Ø Under “Operation Nanhe Fariste” RPF, SCR undertook the noble cause of identifying and rescuing children in need of care and protection who are lost/separated from their family due to various reasons. 93 children (66 Boys + 27 Girls) have been provided safety.

Ø Under “Operation Amanat”, RPF personnel provided help in securing passenger belongings and handed over them to the rightful owners. RPF retrieved more than 192 belongings of passengers, valued at more than Rs 42.Lakhs.

Ø RPF has launched Operation NARCOS to curb narcotic smuggling through Railways. Under this operation, RPF has confiscated Narcotic products valued more than Rs. 7.50 Lakhs with the arrest of 06 Persons during the month of March 2022.

Ø RPF also rescued destitutes, helpless, mentally unsound, trafficked adults in need of care and protection under “Operation Dignity” and helped them to reunite with their families or get them relocated at shelter homes in collaboration with NGOs. RPF S.C.Railway has rescued 05 men and 10 women, total 15 adults in the month of March 2022.

Ø Medical Assistance was provided to 59 passengers / elderly / women / divyangjan / sick / injured / infants during their travel in boarding & deboarding during the month of March 2022.

Ø Under “Operation Satark” liquor worth Rs.1.97 lakhs transporting illegally through trains was seized with arrest of 6 persons and subsequently handed over to Excise Department during the month of March 2022.
